Yūgao Kannon bodhisattva is said to have been unearthed in 1668 (the eighth year of Kanbun) by Sekiguchi Jizaemon in Iizuka Village (present-day Mizumoto Iizuka, Katsushika Ward) from the root of a pine tree near his house after he received a prophecy in a dream.
