There was an association in Ōdenma-chō that possessed exclusive sales rights for cotton called "Associates of Ōdenma-chō cotton wholesaler". For this reason, most of famous kimono stores such as Echigo-ya, Shiroki-ya, and Matsuzaka-ya set up stores in this vicinity.
