One Hundred Famous Views of Edo: Nihonbashi, Edobashi bridge
Painted by Utagawa Hiroshige I 1857 (Ansei 4) Tokyo Shiryō Collection 0421-C8

This is the view from the top of Nihonbashi, the starting point of the Tōkaidō Highway, of Edobashi bridge, which was constructed downstream. Facing Edobashi, a Koami-chō warehouse which is depicted in the "Yoroi-no-Watashi Ferry and Koami-chō" is also visible. It is clear the work depicts the scenery of Nihonbashi in summer due to the fact that the first bonito of the season can be seen in the foreground of the picture.
