Sanbon-dake is a group of reefs located off the west-southwest shore of Miyakejima Island. The official name for the reef is Ōnohara Island, but it is commonly called Sanbon-dake peak. The name comes from three lava necks which are seen steeply rising when looking from Miyakejima Island (Sanbon-dake means "three peaks").
