Area 1: Tokyo, Continuously Changing City (a traveling exhibition from the Tokyo Metropolitan Central Library)

This area features some of the materials displayed at the Tokyo Metropolitan Central Library Special Exhibition 150 Years of Tokyo: Tokyo, Continuously Changing City. The area chronicles major events in the 150-year history of Tokyo, while presenting changes in Tokyo's landscapes and the process of Tokyo's development using a wide variety of materials about Tokyo, including old maps, albums, and picture postcards, as well as a paper diorama created by the Diorama Club of Tokyo Metropolitan Osaki High School.

Area 2: Knowing Tokyo by image

In this area, moving images that tell the history of Tokyo from the Meiji era onward are screened on a continuous loop. Some of them are digitized versions of 16 mm films owned by our library, which were created especially for this exhibition. Why not compare the restored images with those of the original 16 mm films, which will be screened at the related event, "16 mm Film Screening"?
