The Tokyo Metropolitan Central Library's Special Collections Room holds an annual exhibition in conjunction with Tokyo Heritage Week, showcasing valuable materials dating primarily from the Edo and Meiji periods, including the Materials on the Construction of Edo Castle (Kōra Household collection), which has been designated an Important Cultural Property.
This year's exhibition is presented under the theme of "Edo as a tourist destination."

Focusing on the theme "Edo as a tourist destination," the exhibition highlights five sightseeing districts within Edo and introduces their notable attractions and local specialties through materials held in the Special Collections Room.

Ch.1 Edo as a tourist destination
Discover Edo as a tourist destination through guidebooks and publications on the city's famous sights.
Ch.2 Kanda and Ueno / Ch.3 Asakusa / Ch.4 Ryogoku and Mukojima / Ch.5 Nihonbashi
Check out the distinctive character and appeal of each area through a wide variety of materials, including woodblock prints and kiriezu or segmented maps of various districts within Edo.
Ch.3 Edo Castle and Daimyo Alleys
Explore drawings of Edo Castle's inner enclosure, plans of its representative turrets, gates and the donjon, and maps of areas within the outer enclosure where daimyo residences were located.
