General Information
Provides general information about the library. Please receive a reader's card here when entering the library. Seminar rooms can be booked here.
Cafe
We offer handmade bread, scones, coffee, and more.
Take a break when you get tired of doing research. In addition to our recommended blended coffee, we also have seasonal breads and drinks.
Business Hours
From 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on open days
Exhibition Area and Exhibition Wall
This area is used to hold special theme-based and long-term exhibits using materials from the collections of the Tama Library.

Magazine Area
The Tokyo Magazine Bank has over 6,000 different magazines published over the past one year in the magazine area and open stacks. In addition, back issues of about 19,000 different magazines are stored in closed stacks. Several dozen serial issues of a magazine and journal can be used at one time.

Search Terminal
Searching online catalogues, browsing the Internet, and use of over 30 different online databases are possible.
Pick-up/Return Counter
The Pick-up/Return Counter is where you pick up and return materials from the closed stacks.
Group Reading Room
This room can be used for group study and research activities, using materials in the library. The room can be booked for private use. (Applications are accepted from a month in advance up to the previous day.)

Young Adult Area
Books that appeal to the younger generation, such as teenager are available, as well as materials useful for learning.

Study Books Area
There are materials on the research of children's books, as well as materials concerning children's reading. The library also holds a large amount of valuable materials from the Meiji and Taisho periods.

Children's Room
The library has picture books, story books, books on knowledge and children's books in foreign languages, etc. There is also a "Picture Books Area", where children may have books read out loud.


Open Stacks
The Open Stack is open for entry and available for use. There are magazines not available in the reading rooms, as well as a year's worth of new children's books and the like. A large amount of picture books is also featured there.
Visitors are requested to apply for entry at the Pick-up/Return Counter.

Reading Service Room
Provides face-to-face reading services and produces talking materials for the visually impaired and others. A reading aid called "Yomube-e" is available for converting printed materials into speech and enlarging the print.
Reference Counter
If you are unable to find the materials you are looking for, do not hesitate to ask librarians at this counter for help.
Children's Room Counter
We offer reference services, including advice on materials for children and young adults and children's reading activities.

Seminar Room
This space accommodates around 200 people, and can be divided into two separate rooms by using movable partitions. Accessories such as projectors and screens are also available to rent.
