Chapter 2: Memories of Tokyo in Books
This chapter can show you images of Tokyo captured in photographs, and documents dated from the Meiji Period to Showa Period in the collection of the stack room at the Tokyo Metropolitan Library. Copperplate illustrations in the Meiji Period and picture books of travel souvenirs, guides of department stores and railways can give you a glimpse of Tokyo at that time and you can also make interesting discoveries about designs that reflect the periods.
