The term, "Pax Tokugawana", is used to describe the nature of the Edo period, which lasted for approximately 260 years where people enjoyed themselves peacefully without any interference from overseas by people outside Japan. However, there were actually various incidents inside Japan and people called such great incidents "taihen", which literally means "big incidents".
